My Battle

I’m in the battle of my life.

The fight is from within;

But God is now my coach

and if I stay strong, I’ll win.

My opponent is addiction

to drugs and alcohol,

and if I’m lacking courage

he will win, and I’ll lose all.

His manager is Satan.

The cunning, evil one.

But God’s now in my corner

along with Christ, His Son.

I have him up against the ropes

and feel God’s strength within.

My family’s on the front row cheering,

“Knock him out…and WIN!
